Hello everyone,
We have recovered from an unexpected database-related software malfunction affecting http://www.phpbb.com. The site was taken offline around 12 hours ago to repair errors and check integrity. We were able to preserve all data so you should be able to pick up where you left off.
The error was not caused by the phpBB software. Since several people asked on IRC, I would also like to emphasise that this error was not security-related in any way.
If you find anything not working as expected, please file a ticket in our website bug tracker.
We apologise for the inconvenience and welcome you back to the site.
